Can I give hypoallergenic dog food to my 8 months Greyhound?

Greyhounds are about hypoallergenic as they come. Because of the short smooth and shiny coat and nothing shedding, with allergies. Change the food slowly because Greyhounds have sensitive digestive systems. Water should be fresh at all times and change regularly.

Complete food is important for dogs. Like proteins, vitamins, and minerals. A bright shiny coat, smooth and healthy skin, and bright clear eyes indicate that the dog is in excellent health.

Depending upon the size, Greyhounds should eat between 250-300 grams of meat every day. Always feed dogs the best quality of food. Cheap dog food brands do not provide the nutrition that the greyhound needs.

If you have any doubt about what food should be given to the greyhound, then contact the vet. The vet will recommend a good quality of kibble or wet food. Try to use tinned foods in less quantity because contains fillers that are not good for the dog and can cause intestinal problems.

If the dog suffers from diarrhea after eating tinned food, then it's time to change food immediately. Dogs should eat pure food, nothing should be mixed in it and unprocessed.

FAQS
Can my dog eat hypoallergenic food?

Hypoallergenic simply means less likely to cause an allergic reaction. This means that hypoallergenic dog food has a decreased habit to cause an allergic reaction. But as anything can be an allergen, just because a food says it's hypoallergenic doesn't mean that it is good for your dog.

What can hypoallergenic dogs eat?
Hypoallergenic dog food options include venison and potato, duck and pea, salmon and potato, or even kangaroo, as long as the dog hasn't been exposed to these ingredients in the past. Lamb used to be considered hypoallergenic but is now in so many commercial dog foods that it is no longer novel.

Do hypoallergenic dogs need special food?
Whether a reaction is truly allergy in nature or sensitive, hypoallergenic dog foods must provide the ingredients necessary to keep dogs from experiencing discomfort.
