What to feed your little one?

Today let's talk about the diet of our little pups. Newborn puppies spend their first weeks in a box. They have no immunity and are susceptible to many infections. Hence, it becomes necessary to take their utmost care.

New pups can't regulate their body temperature so it is best to use a heat lamp for the first month. A healthy pup will double its weight in the first seven to ten days. We should always keep a shallow dish beside them for drinking water.

We should give them blended puppy food for around three and a half weeks. Slowly we can start increasing the amount of dry food and decreasing the amount of mother's milk so that by the seventh week they can have dry food.

A puppy's diet is a crucial part of its life.

In their early days as a part of their weaning diet, they can be fed Petex Cereal.

It comes in two flavors wheat and chicken. It acts as a protein supplement and is very effective in boosting immunity. It is rich in DHA and has biotin.

The needs of growing pups are different from the needs of an adult dog. Their diet must provide them with nutrients that boost their growth & help in the proper development of their body.

Few brands have developed their products according to the needs-based of different breeds and sizes out there.

IAMS is one such brand. It has two kinds of puppy food one for small & medium breeds and the other for large breeds.

Royal Canin has a range of puppy food suited for the requirements of each breed like the Golden Retriever, Labrador, Rottweiler, etc.

The Smart Heart power pack has come up with a product to increase muscle mass & give balanced nutrition to your pups.

Arden Grange has a product specially designed for the needs of small and medium-sized breeds or large breed pups with a low appetite. The small kibble size makes it ideal for the pups to chew. You can check it out here.
